Silver Star Industries delivered an extensive duty-free retail environment for Vancouver International Airport’s international departure terminal, supporting one of North America’s premier gateway airports. Serving over 26 million passengers annually, YVR is renowned for its world-class retail experience, and our comprehensive fabrication scope contributed to this 15,000+ square foot transformation.
We engineered and manufactured over 200 individual fixture components that seamlessly blend premium materials with functional retail design. Our team fabricated custom curved wood slat ceiling features that flow throughout the space, creating dramatic architectural moments that define the passenger experience.
The fixture package included precision-built checkout counters with vertical wood cladding and white quartz surfaces, housing integrated POS systems across six lanes. We produced the signature circular “Great BC Flavour Trail” feature display with curved wood structural beams and integrated LED lighting—a focal point celebrating local wines and spirits. Our metal fabrication capabilities were showcased in the custom black powder-coated frames supporting the perimeter wine walls and spirits displays.
For product presentation, we delivered an extensive range of gondola fixtures, wall-mounted systems, and specialty displays the elegant “mind.body.soul.” wellness section with custom open shelving. Every fixture was engineered for both aesthetic impact and operational efficiency in this high-traffic international retail environment.
